Interestingly, though, J Crew has admitted that one of the reasons they stock brands like Heller's and Mister Freedom is so that J Crew's higher priced garments look like a good deal in comparison.
...I don't know whether that's terrible, clever, or hilarious. Well, it's clever regardless. I guess it's no disservice to the featured brand, since - as shoreman mentioned - they gain greater visibility, and the pieces sell to collectors and enthusiasts anyway even if - as you said - they function mostly as a straw man for the average J. Crew shopper.

Boston now has a separate J Crew men's store in the Prudential Center similar the Soho Men's Store - next to the Aldens, Mr. Freedom peacoat, tortoise-shell frame Raybans, etc., the stacks of stripy button-downs and washed chinos actually looked better.

Kinda wish you could delete your old threads so as to be able to consolidate every couple months. I have a bunch of stuff to add / remove from mine but can't be bothered atm.

I wish I had $200 to drop on an oxford. Blackbird's less over-the-top dyed offerings are pretty fucking cool.

I hate it when I order something from yoox but forget to specify brown box instead of yoox box. [IMG]
