Does anybody really have trouble understanding why nice boots that are being sold for much less than they usually cost might be a popular item? Is 'saving an assload of money' not actually a valid reason to buy something? Somebody help me out here.

Jet's point is that these several dozen men had no idea they "needed" to bust over this exact pair of boots until those couple dozen other guys needed to. He thinks people should make individual style decisions.

It's not exactly sheep mentality"”if Church's or Buttero or Ringhio was selling their shit for $260 a pop I'd be talking about them instead.

got my ringhio for less than $70 after price conversion [IMG]

    huh?
Unless you're buying something for someone else, isn't it always an individual decision?

^that's what you would think, welcome to the internet just look at the failed wvg experiment for more proof surprised you weren't aware of this has been an internet phenomenon since my car modding days

thank you most of the people who bought them gave a shit about them, talked about them or looked at them until they got marked down to 300 now all of a sudden everyone needs the same pair bc they're forum approved

But that's insane. What do you think is more important to people's decision-making process here"”the fact that they're "forum approved" or the fact that they're being sold at an enormous discount from their normally very high price?

Trickers has been a well-regarded English brand for years. It's not like people were shitting on that brand before they became 'forum-approved'.

    love sheep mentality

TIme for another history lesson. [IMG]

August 2009. Jet, only several years removed from his love affair with Banana Republic, explains that he doesn't like Tricker's.
Trickers are far too clunky for my taste and aldens are a hassle to get/try on until Tom opens up shop.

Dec. 2009. After a bunch of people write on the internet about their admiration for Tricker's, jet tries to figure out his Tricker's size by comparing to the only kind of shoes he is familiar with, sneakers.
Callin dudes with trickers tell me my size for stow boots if I am
    - 43 in common projects
    - 10.5 in asics/new balance
    - 11 in nike runners

    thanks homies

Dec. 2010. jet updates his list of owned shoes to include Tricker's.
    http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...rs#post3834789

The summary: Just over a year ago, jet couldn't stomach Tricker's. Just a few months ago, he bought some. Now, he's calling other people sheep for buying them.
