1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Just curious, can you state that the crystal deodorant really works, and works all day? I've thought about it a million times, but have never pulled the trigger.

Yes, it does work very well for me and it lasts all day. Fortunately, I do not sweat heavily underneath the arms like some guys do. For me, the best feature of the crystal deodorant is the fact that it does not cause yellow stains on my dress shirts so I can wear A-shirts without being concerned about stains.

I don't think the structure of the forum lends itself to 'the charm of ugliness'. If some guy asks for HALP FIRST TIME HERE STYLE ADVICE PLEASE no way I'm gonna recommend Wallies, old school Cox creepers, paisley scarves, etc. even though I like them.

And of course most of the clothes we buy are going to look unbearably ugly in a couple years, why try to speed up the process?

you got hands on George cox? THAT'S OG URAHARA SHIT SON. son hook me up with cox x bape that shit was craze

In a sense, it's really not surprising that they haven't been profitable all this time. Back when they were actually selling discounted surplus, their margins couldn't have been much at all. Add to that all the referrals they forked over (even if just credited as part of their marketing/advertising budget) and it's even tighter.

But they've definitely changed since they started out. I got onto Gilt for the first time in months and was surprised to see it more of a discount store than the "limited time, limited stock" approach, especially since brands started making stock specifically for them.

Hopefully it doesn't turn out to yet another outlet retail experience.

I fear that this will be the case. Ultimately, their big problem is that they literally cannot score enough good merchandise. If they really want to stay true to the meaning of the word gilt they can probably only have 50-100 sample sales per year. With so few sales there is no way that they could support the startup and overhead costs necessary to run such an operation. On the plus side, I've always wanted to be able to shop the Nordstrom Rack online.

British Boot Co has a 'vintage creeper' section online. Not sure where they get them, maybe Cox x Bape will pop up (the sawtooth loafers right?).

Who/what is urahara, google is showing me an anime guy wearing a Geller bucket hat.

Any of you guys commute to work/school via bike a lot? How do you like it? I do a lot of riding on trails so road biking is pretty easy for me, but next year I'm living off campus and am thinking of biking to school everyday. It'd be a 6 mile ride one way, and I'd have to be up at 6 AM to be to class and work on time, ride home around 5:30ish. Wary of riding on the road here cause Atl has terrible biking infrastructure, especially since my particular area has narrow lanes about 75% of my route.

Just scared of getting doored and having my head run over by a UPS truck [IMG]
