1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

i'm thinking that this is a bad idea...
Haha. When I wrote that statement about conditioning a woman I was actually thinking "I bet Hendrix will disapprove." As long as you're careful to not attack her taste, why would sharing your opinion about clothing with a girl whom you are close to be a bad idea? If you had recently gained new insight regarding a non-clothing subject would you withhold those opinions from her too? Is this even a healthy attitude? Here's what I discovered.... By repeatedly sharing my new found passion for clothing with her and offering up ideas about what might look better on her, it gradually sparked a new interest in her too. At first I suggested new styles for her based on my understanding of her personality, but over time she's become more independent and started to actually cultivate her own unique style that makes her feel good. A lot of girls whom dress poorly likely lack the proper context-- e.g. her friends and co-workers likely dress poorly too. By attempting to dress better yourself and talking with her about how harmonious your two distinct styles are when together as a couple, you will have created a new context.

yeah, derek is a good guy, well known on sz, used to be at barneys

Seriously, the Atelier people (Derek at least) are some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of doing business with. Amazingly helpful and patient with answering questions and making sure that you're satisfied.

lol you created a monster. Although I will admit that it is pretty good advertising for Alden to have that thread stay on the first page -- reminds me that need some Alden boots.

anyone own these or similar and care to comment? regardless of the two-tone which is pretty subtle, I think theyre versatile enough to be worth with jeans shorts or even chinos..

worst case wear with gray sweatpants.?

The two-tone is ugly. Just wear the shit out of your white CPs until they are broken in and awesome

^Is most likely the best idea. I actually already have a two-tone and am not really thrilled with them. There will be a day or three in the summer where they'll be nice, but aside, no real reason to stray from the white. I did think the zip mids might be more appropriately worn with skinny fitting jeans (ie the ones from my waywt post, today) versus with a low-top sneaker. I need to find a shoe that goes there. I think maybe I was more in love with the side (edit; typo) zip than the shoe as well with the CPs in question. I'm sure that's 300 and change that can be spent wiser elsewhere. Thanks for your input..

Some have said they don't like the CP vintage soles because the color is more pronounced (?) in person. I haven't seen them though.

I think I like it because it just allows the beating process to be visibly occur slightly more naturally as opposed to the pure white achilles. Especially at the beginning. I find myself cleaning them with a rag despite saying I wouldn't. But I do think keeping them in decent check with a rag and letting them age naturally and slowly is the best route. I say I won't use a magic eraser now too...

i'm still torn on the zips. would like to see them worn or any two tone mid zips for that matter..

    edit; are these vintage soles?

i think two tones are okay and i love zippers on sneakers but those are just kind of an awkward mix.

Vintage soles in context... [IMG] They're awesome, especially with the gray nubuck, perfect color scheme for dark denim imo. I am very much on a crusade to convince everyone of this. Side zips are awesome. But then you already have the lows so it would be kind of silly to get those.

Yes. Even while referring to the fact that you had those shoes, I forgot they had them [IMG]
