I think this is what Fok meant when he slammed trenches. You look almost overpowered by it. It's as though you found dad's trench in the closet, put it on, and mom snapped a pic because it was just so adorable.

The detailing sort of makes it look like a woman's coat, too.

Yeah, something about the lapels and the drape.

I have no motivation to buy anything. Everything is just so expensive, and I just dropped $850 on textbooks.

Had some pretty nice plans to get a navy cashmere overcoat made as well as some staples(blazers and shirts) but now I am seriously thinking of wearing a uniqlo v under some random sportcoat everyday(since thats all I own). With diors and lobbs or something. who cares. My wardrobe is gonna be stuck in this weird transitional stage for a bit, and it doesnt even matter to me.

Whatever, time to hit the books and wear the same 5 tweed coats and sweaters.

Thanks, this was pretty helpful. It's a 48e, I'm a 38R, pittopit 20" (shoulders are raglan and I believe the passants are meant to hang over as it is 22" from one end to the other). Here is a full length picture with a shirt and jacket beneath, is this not the intended fit?

I'm just trying to figure out if it really is too big.

jacket is definitely too big, the material looks really clunky too. Trench coats like THAT are pretty hard to pull off.

It looks too long too. Aren't trench coats' lengths supposed to hit mid-thigh?

Thanks for the constructive feedback everybody. Not sure what 'clunky' material is but it's a very soft drapey canvas. So if I got the skirt shortened, and the waist taken in, and possibly the arms slimmed a bit, it would still be too big? I still feel like it fits chest & shoulders. Sorry for making the thread about me and posting offensive pix. [IMG] I appreciate the help!

[IMG] I like it buttoned all up. I need to get the waist taken in and the sleeves slimmed if I'm keeping it, but I think I fit the chest/shoulders ok, especially using it as an overcoat.
That is way too big for you. Look at where the epaulets sit and where the sleeves end. Also, looks like an unstructured bag on you. And put that collar down. Also, I just plain don't like the look of this coat at all.

Whatever, I like it. Wouldn't be hard to turn it around for more than I paid, either. It's a 48e, I'm a 38R, pittopit 20" (shoulders are raglan and I believe the passants are meant to hang over as it is 22" from one end to the other).
and I thought overcoat sleeves were to be longer than both jacket and shirt sleeves. You may see coat on eBay later but for now I like it.

I think you should just put it up on eBay right now. It would need a massive overhaul to fit you correctly.

I'm going to have to agree with everybody and say it just looks way too big on you. A trim, fitting trenchcoat might not look bad, and I'm a fan of trenches in general, but that one looks terrible - sleeves, body, and length.

Do you want to buy my Epiphone Casino, Brian? I could bring over with the rest of the stuff you left at house (slightly homo)
