I replaced all of mine with the uniqlo tencel boxer briefs a while back and for some reason they've discontinued them. I don't think anybody else is making tencel/modal underwear nearly as inexpensive as uniqlo was. I also got a couple pairs of the airism boxer briefs but I don't like them. They don't breathe.

I'm not big on the uniqlo undies anymore for exactly that reason.

I just went to a yuppie wedding reception and regretted spending so much time on suits cuz no one gave a ****. Everyone wore MTM with those hidden spread collars while I was the only one with semi-spread and plain toed shoes.

What's a hidden spread collar? And if everyone was wearing made to measure didn't they also spend some time on their suits? Also what's a yuppie in 2016?

Anyone have good rec for summer weight merino boxer briefs?

I hate poly. I've tried em all, even some really expensive techy poly ones, and I hate them all. Need to switch to merino now I think.

Isaora make some decent ones. Their merino is thinner which makes them better for summer but imo less comfortable, and itchy, than thicker merino. But the cut is good and the price is good and they still do a life time guarantee afaik.

Tossed all my old underwear and bought the (new?) Uni-qlo seamless ones and Airism ones. Quality of life has improved dramatically

Underwear technology has come a long way

Unless they've changed the cut recently, I found the seamless ones to be kind of awful. Basically zero pouch.

The tencel ones were pretty great. I only managed to snag a couple of pairs of those before they discontinued them.

I don't get why they make so few low-rise boxer briefs beyond the seamless ones. They seem to sell out almost immediately. You'd think they'd figure out the whole supply-and-demand thing after a while.

Have you tried micromodal? It's much more breathable than cotton, wears cool, and really soft. The only problem is finding a maker who uses high-enough quality micromodal that doesn't pill. I switched almost everything to Tommy John a few years ago and find them to be pretty good.

Good SIC can be even better, but I find it very hit and miss. Bought a few from Zimmerli. One is was nice; the others not so great. When it's good, it's a lot softer than micromodal, but a lot more expensive and more likely to pill (at least from my experience).

Looks like their might be a couple options from Stumptown, Intelligensia, and Angels' Cup. Not sure how picky you are about coffee but I would rather buy direct from the roaster than through Amazon. Its bound to have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a while.

Those CM collars where the points tuck underneath the lapels.

I don't know anything about suits so I went through lookbooks and the majority of them had something like this:

MTM isn't necessarily time consuming or taste demanding. You pay someone to dress you. My only regret is that I didn't go straight up CM and instead went for some cute SWD stuff that looked out of place. But no one cared or noticed.
