1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Haha I forgot about that! Kaya toast to us is kinda like u guys eating marmalade or jam on toast you know?

Fwiw most of us hate the humidity too.. You don't get used to it.

Max of two layers for me. And if I need to wander around in the sun (which I don't at midday) I take off my jacket. If I'm going to be sightseeing the entire day I'm definitely going to be in a t shirt or light shirt.

I can't decide between flip flops and Birks. Leaning towards flip flops because I am anti sandals in the city, and just need something for beach wear. Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Leaning towards Rainbow Sandals.

Someone asked if they could price match/return with free shipping a final sale item that they already wore out?

You can actually walk in birkenstocks, and even the foam ones have some arch support. I brought my foam pair to a beach this summer and they were great (35$ everywhere).

Slaps for beach only. Birks if you need to multi-task. Espadrilles?

    Gonna keep suggesting this brand:

    https://www.olukai.com/mens/sandals.html

I wouldn't wear them on a day out in the city, but I wear them around my neighborhood, at the beach, and even light trekking. They have a great arch support and grips on the bottom, so super comfy for trekking around wet areas.

I've recently discovered my feet are way too pale for espadrilles.

There's gotta be a startup that specializes in on-demand feet tanning right? Like an uber for feet tanning?

Men's toenails should not be seen in public

Beach is only exception at least the sand covers them somewhat

@Parker has a cool thread on sandals.

    http://www.styleforum.net/t/296785/the-official-sandal-thread/0_20

Maybe not beach appropriate, but I like Barbera Shaum's sandals. Custom NYC maker. A bit on the expensive side. I think her former apprentices, like the lady behind Kika NY, also sells sandals. Unionmade has a pair from Kika this season.

All leather though, so I don't know how good they'd be near ocean water.

I'm going camping at a lake next week and probably gonna pick up some Natives:

EVA upper. Dunno how much I'll end up liking them, but the convenience can't be denied for beach days. Everyone wears them round these parts.

^ those look dangerously close to crocs to me.

Not really into the style, but Orlebar Brown just released something kinda similar. Basically a drainable sneaker that you can wear after you've just jumped out of the pool/ ocean.
