1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I travel all the time and knowing the prices in many countries for short term apts. this is both a ripoff and a great way to confirm your asshole status and meet other assholes. I'm sure it will be successful, it speaks to the international self sovereign networking startuper douchebags, Silicon valley jerks off to that stupid shit.

I think I'm finally realizing that SF has best served me over the years mostly by enabling my apparent desire to collect. Thanks to SF, I've got quite the accumulation of:

    Historic Naval-inspired clothing
    Historic British explorer-inspired clothing
    Japanese denim
    Scottish knitwear
    Alden shoes
    Kinfolk magazines
    Italian toothpastes
and the latest- upscale desk supplies, including:

    Italian paperclips
    [IMG]

    Japanese brass writing utensils

On the lookout for that perfect stapler...

I don't believe they will be profitable long term, as they have to compete with both the rental market and apartment hotels. The investors/owners of those kinds of businesses are often times multinational and can easily drive them into the ground.

    Speaking of international self-sovereigns:

    https://www.theguardian.com/busines...-festival-burning-man-tech-elite-eric-schmidt

This sounds like the worst party or the wierdest conference of all time. Yes, complaing that Burning Man has become overly commercialized is lame, lost its "original meaning", etc,, is lame, but this is much, much, lamer.

I wonder if Further future has a lesbian orgy tent.

Most super successful Silicon stuff is silly and can only be explained by our cultural decadence. Economics can rarely explain success in the economic field, cultural shifts can.

I saw this one, almost projectile vomited. The Guardian is still the UK newspaper I read but lots of boring crap in there. Best article ever is from Telegraph though:

Saw one of my buddies since I shared my workout tips and he looked ripped as hell while I slacked off during the same period and went soft.

But what they are essentially asking for is investment in a real estate project/concept and those kind of investor are all occupancy rates, turn over, IRR.

The concept is essentially Soho with more rooms and less ostentatious, which is very easy to replicate by people with money and experience in the field. So why add an inexperienced startup as a middle man.

They are looking for 3.5 million to setup in London and BA. 3.5 gets you nothing in London. A conservative estimate is that they will need 30-50k sq.ft., which is $500+ a foot plus refurbishment in London.

Why is he ironing the jacket? Is he melting some oil/wax into it??

Just a guess, but maybe it helps dull and dry out the leather? Vintage leather jackets are sometimes a bit wavy along the seams and the leather has a kind of variegated color (especially if it's tea core, where the underlaying color is different from the top layer).
