1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Took a trip with my wife up to London to see the Vogue 100 years exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Definitely worth a visit, although not enough photos from the 30's - 50's for me, and not a patch on the V&A's Horst exhibition from a couple of year's back. The very large scale prints are mainly from the past three decades.

We were planning on seeing the Hilma af Klint exhibition at The Serpentine as well, but ran out of time - has anyone been? On the plus side we did find a London pub that served decent beer, had good lunches, wasn't jam packed and wasn't exorbitantly priced - it's a bit like finding a unicorn.

Gucci can do some incredible collections. I know that the inclination here is towards the shows in Paris, and away from the shows in Milan, particularly from designers like Gucci, Etro, etc..., but I think that it's a big mistake to do this.

I recently walked past a Steve Madden store, and did a double take thinking they did some collaboration with Common Projects:

I kept on waiting for a strap to get caught on the belt and for her to fly off of the treadmill.

That is nearly a straight up homage. I refuse to believe otherwise. Add that that guy is French...

I'm going to be beaten by my designer friends (just kidding - they weigh an average of about 135 lbs, essentially child sized) but I agree with this:

I would say the same of retailing as well, probably, and the internet. Retailers griping about direct-to-customer, preorders, etc.. are fighting the inevitable tide. Yes, a lot of those will go under, as well.

This has to be the first time I've seen somebody knock one of those twins' style. I see the copycat aspect you're talking about but I think you can say that about any "street style" look.

I actually dig a lot of their fits, but in this particular case, this is damn near Leon cosplay:
