It's pretty amazing that this discussion on hip hip and its impact on fashion and culture has gone on as long as it has without discussing the group which has undoubtedly had the biggest and broadest impact. Not only have they created their own lifestyle, but also an annual festival to celebrate said lifestyle.

but they are from detroit, which is imo the most impactful city in music, even if they are hot garbage

Ugh, sometimes woman are frustrating beyond belief. I give my wife her X-mas present early. It's a nice gray wool coat.

BEFORE SHE EVEN PUTS IT ON she asks, "What size is it?" I, like an ass, answer honestly saying that it's an XL. She responds, "I'm afraid that it will be too big". She put it on, it fits like a glove, and says "Oh, yeah, it's defintiely too big".

Not only am I pretty sure that the retailer doesn't have a size L to exchange it for, but if I find one she'll spend the next few cramming herself into the coat. All so that she can "feel better" about herself that she's wearing an L and not an XL.

Take it to the tailor, have him sew in a size L tag, problem solved :)

Or tell her they run unusually small and Styleforum told you to size up.

This is actually a really solid idea. I may just very well do this.
