I feel like a trip to Japan would be lost on me at this point, at least in terms of clothing. Over the past few years, my shoulders have gotten broader, and my waist narrower. Combine that with being 6'2", and pretty much no Japanese clothes fit me. Some jeans, but that's about it.

saw 'dior and I' in amsterdam last summer with a dutch artist friend (who is pretty unimpressed by fashion). i knew that raf owned one of her pieces, but afterwards she let slip that he now has several, and had also offered to give her some clothes .. all in an 'oh, i must get around to calling him sometime' kind of way

Hey jet - you said you were looking for plain tees.. just have one made by luxire. They have pima/egyptian/whatever cotton you want, and youcan get whatever fit you want (or copy an existing shirt).

You joke, but here in Boulder there's a considerable number of people who do exactly that. It's fairly obnoxious.

The jeans brands will get to your size, easily, as will "heritage" brands like Buzz Rickson. @Synthese went, and he is about your height, and a size 42, so... The "outdoorsy and casual" brands like nonnative and North Face Purple Label would fit you at the higher end of the size brackets as well. There are also a lot of things from brands like SEH Kelly, Frank Leder, etc... that get to regular person sizes.

If you are looking for something like Attachment or Devoa, that is more fashion based and geared towards a younger audience, you might be outta luck, but in general, you'll probably be fine.

I'd like to point out that thanks to the new "Reputation" feature (found on one's profile), I was able to accurately track down my very first ever @tcwalter07 thumb comment:

Yeah, jeans aren't really a problem, for the most part. My Momotaros are plenty long, but Sugar Cane always seems to be barely long enough. I have a few Buzz sweatshirts, and have to size up to get the length. They wind up being a bit of a roomy fit, which is fine for that vintage look. The Frank Leder stuff I have is no problem despite the shoulders being a bit narrow. SEH Kelly seems oddly too short for me. I find that there are many JP brands that I have to completely write off.
