I don't own any wool beanies and beard isn't doable. My gloves went MIA when I moved. I haven't owned a rain poncho since the Niagra falls tour when I was 10. Hmmm, looks like I'm gonna have to stop by Uniqlo tonight and pick up some random shit.

Umbrella and some of the outerwear you already own, unless you'll really be walking outside for hours on end in steady rain

Pretty sure every 2nd shop in Oregon is going to have umbrellas and beanies and gloves if you really need it though.

Well, I'll probably be waiting for hyped up food? None of these dammed places take reservations. Might wear old MMM boots...

You don't own any rainwear at all @cyc wid it? Even if it's light - heattech tee + sweater underneath and you should be fine. I know 40-50s sounds "really cold" to someone from SF but it's honestly not that hard to stay warm in. Once it dips below the 20s is when it starts to get real bad.

How on earth do you own a rabbit fur parka but are at a loss for what to wear when it is raining?

Too pretty? I dunno, I'll probably bring it without the lining. Or maybe my merino.

As far as shopping goes, probably won't get a chance to fit it in unfortunately.

I have a Burberry camel trench from years ago that I wear when it's chilly and raining, or if I'm working out I have a north face rain jacket for keeping the rain off me. Boots/Bean boots for the rain, and a decent double layered/not cheap flimsy umbrella should keep you fine

You won't need rainboots unless you plan on dunking your feet in water. Something with a topy or danite will be fine. Wet pavement + leather soles will tear up the soles. It'll feel cold, so wear something warm and add an umbrella. One of the stick ones. Kinda funny as a Vancouverite to see you guys talking about this.

Dunno what Chicago is like, but the cold in the PNW is bone-chilling. It's so wet. -5C on the coast feels like -15C in the prairies. I refuse to convert that to F for you heathens.
