I'm going to experience my first winter. How do you guys deal with salt, snow, and ice? Cheap pair of snow boots and change at the office? Just add a rubber sole to cool boots? Help!

If its proper cold, get a nice pair of snow boot with a good deep ridged sole.

If it's not too bad I wear a pair of DM1461's without yellow stitching - decent grip and will take a battering whilst just about passing for the office. If it's very bad I go for snow boots and change.

Commando soles are decent in snow (not stunning on ice). Avoid Dainite soles - they slip like crazy in ice and snow.

Timbs are decent winter beaters. Blundstones too. Probably not office appropriate though.
