They do a really cool thing that I like A LOT. Basically with the boots you get a pair of buffalo leather insole AND a cork insole. You can take both out or just have the leather insole, or when both are out, you can wear with just the regular footbed.

It's a super cool system because if you're between sizes or something, as long as the length is right, you can basically modify it to match exactly what you're comfortable with. I'm not sure of other brands who do this, but it makes sizing so much simpler. I wish more brands would do something like that.

Blundstones are like this. They give you a couple pairs of insoles that you can stack. It's especially helpful if one foot is slightly smaller.

By what sorcery do retailers like Matches obtain such clean product shots? Are there invisible helper fairies propping these garments up?

There are mannequins where you can pullout sections of bodies for apparel photos to make the piece look like it's floating but filled. I some people call them ghost mannequins. Also, photoshop.

Matches also puts together great fit shots- one of the many reasons they are so much better than MrP.

Tbh I haven't found any correlation between the price of socks and how long they last, Falke or Pantherella get holes just as fast as the cheapo Bamboo ones that come in 10-packs.

Same here. All based on use, shoe fit, etc.
