I kind of want to buy a bunch of stuff from Descente Pause for traveling + hiking

Experience tells me buying a bunch of nylon gear for traveling isn't as good of an idea as it seems, but I also hate moving around in things if they get wet or stained...

What are all these people doing while traveling that they’re not doing at home?

I like this notion that certain brands or certain collections try to sell that their product will keep you crisp and dapper as you jet set across the world, or else imbue you with some special property that is more refined than the reeking, oily mound of swamp-ass you actually are after 22 hours of travel.

I just recently purged my Cutler and Gross and got all Jaques Marie Mage...(except the Cutler and Gross x Margiela of course).

I do like the looks of JMM although never tried it on in person. I might pick up Molino from somewhere with a good return policy.

Yea makes sense, done similar things before as well. But I wonder how complicated it is for the tailor to make lining from scratch (i.e., not basing it on the pre-existing lining in any way). Perhaps the same thing in the end?

Hm, no idea, unfortunately. I imagine it's the same thing. Maybe even less work since you don't have to rip out the existing lining, but only a tailor would know.

There is a tailor thread, too. Although I see a lot more questions asked there than answered.

Meanwhile, ugh, I just realized I'm going to have to brave the snow today to pick up stuff from my tailor.
