Wait, wait, wait...

You’re saying that if I shave my head and keep the beard, I’ll look like someone who fists twinks in a Berlin nightclub?

And this is...the first association someone not Fuuma will have?

Yes, absolutely everyone on earth thinks of fisting when looking at beardy baldies.

I have two pairs of Uk sized Corthay....

I haven't checked Corthay in like 10 years, but at least then it was definitely UK Sizing...

the really annoying part is US retailer (mainly department store, i.e. someone big enough) will do US size conversion for you (I can understand for average consumer), and unfortunately a lot SA can't tell you how the conversion was done...

One of the Corthay brothers did my patina and was around when the SA sold me the shoes so I'd be pretty pissed if ********* up his own sizing. I like the brand but two nice pairs is enough for life for me, I wear beatup Springcourts pretty much everyday. With that said I've always perceived Corthay as an internet thing on SF that was popular in Japan and France but never really caught on in the USA, maybe I'm wrong?

Corthay has certainly never been my thing, too narrow in toebox, I like their derby back in the days, not sure about anything else. As to if it has ever caught up in US, no idea honestly. Feel like they're perceived as a lessor Berluti?

My Corthay Arca's are definitely US sized, but if you go to their website, their sizing is all over the place based on their last.

I think it's hard for $1500+ shoes to go anywhere, but my feeling from spending time at Leffot is that they have a small, but dedicated following.

No idea, but can't imagine the pandemic has been good for them. They do seem to carry more stuff than a decade ago, but I also think a significant percentage of their business comes from trunk shows.

I'm actually scheduling an interview with him right now. If anyone has questions they want asked, let me know.

I'm a big fan of his work, his personal style, and his IG page. Since he's been designing clothes for so long, I'm planning to ask him the usual questions around what he thinks is the future of brick and mortar, the middle price tier of fashion, and sustainability/ the pace of fashion. If people have other ideas for questions, I'd love to hear them.
I’ve often wondered how someone whose taste encompass many styles works with a company with a particular “image.” I can imagine this conversation:

Levine: “Baggy cargo shorts...let's do them.”
A&F: “Weren’t we roasted online for that not too long ago? I thought we were doing grandpa coats and aloha shirts...”

If that is an actual example, thank goodness for the corporate people.

Did the import duty threshold for the US change? I remember it being $800 and I ordered a coat from the UK that ended up being $750 and I just got a notice from UPS that they are charging me duties.

Any chance of an interview with Rummelsnuff? I'm a big fan of his work. You may want different questions, though.

Dispute it. I’ve been fighting them since October. So, maybe don’t dispute if you value your time and sanity.
