i feel like having a catalog of your clothing takes any fun of it away

I thankfully lose things fast enough that the catalogue would be irrelevant as soon as it was updated....

A couple years ago I had way too much time on my hands and made an Airtable database. I've since abandoned it, but it was handy for keeping track of what I had in storage vs what I had in my closet. It also made reselling things very easy, since I saved the original product photos and descriptions for everything (and sometimes measurements) in the database.

you could also view things in a million different ways. anything from: show me all my shirts by X brand that are a particular size ... to more specific filters like: show me everything that's green, wearable during fall/winter, vintage, and can be classified as "heavy duty ivy" or militaria or tailoring or sportswear or whatever.

it kind of sucked the fun out of clothes though and was more work than it was worth.

Use that database and conjure up a fitpic! The great jawns and inspiration you provide are sorely missed.

One lesson I have learned the hard way recently is that Kazuyuki Kumagai Attachment stuff is not designed for my body shape at all. I've tended to avoid most directional Japanese things in the past for this reason but I've moving more and more in the direction of texture, and was tempted by a couple of KKA things that seemed to have reasonable measurements. But no, I have to admit that 1. even though I am fit and slim by western standards, I am still several inches wider than any Japanese person of my height; and 2. measurements on the internet that look too good to be true are probably too good to be true...

Every time I do one of these on Twitter, someone says "the second photo looks cooler."

That's the point!!!!!!! These are supposed to be fun and playful. If they were mean, they wouldn't be fun.

I'm not on twitter, but of the ones I've seen, this is the first one when the "what you really look like" wasn't clearly terrible
