I’ve always liked the Soloviere Pantone, and at some point I’d like to get a pair. But I have BV woven loafers in the same brown suede so it seems redundant. Maybe I’d get the white leather.

I lace vans loose and wear them like slip ons, throw away the stock foot bed and put in leather ones. I'm about as far from a kid as anyone around here.

I wear the ultra lites and they are pretty comfortable but I really prefer a leather bed without socks. I even buy thin vegtan and cut out my own sometimes

Seems they also make them with sneaker soles.

is the vans "comfycush" actually comfortable? anyone tried it?

I've been wanting to try those Comfy Cush-es. I loved when they introduced the "ultra lite" a few years ago. But the soles wore down super fast. Recently I've been wearing the Pro slip-ons with "Ultra Cush HD" insoles, which I find really good.

Btw, there's a Vans thread over here. ; -)

So I am the current owner of way too many fly rods AND a Barbour To-Ki-To fishing jacket. And I actually use both sometimes. Definitely frivolous. Maybe not quite as frivolous as golf, but close...

Bought these vans last year and they're one of my absolute fave shoes. Should have bought like 3 pair because I can't find any more.

Nice!

I had a not dissimilar pair in a brighter purple orchid pattern when I was in high school. I loved the **** out of those things.

Staying with my Japanese she trend this year, tempted to get these for summer.

But I'm actually drawn to this pair.

the Vans comfycush model i tried looked a little weird, a cartoon drawing of a vans shoe. didn't feel right to me either. passed and copped ultracush, which I find pretty good for standing/work, but not extended walking. maybe i should size a half size up on ultracush.

They came in a pair I bought a couple years ago. My left foot is slightly wider than the right, so insoles that take up more space within the shoe are usually not welcome by me. I actually ditched the stock insoles because I couldn't get used to the snugness on the left foot.

I recently bought another pair of Vans that had the same insoles, but I left them in because I laced the shoes to have no "bow," so the overall fit isn't as snug. I like them fine enough but honestly, can't say I noticed a crazy difference in overall comfort compared to normal Vans insoles.

Oh yeah, the Opening Ceremony ones. I have those, but they silk started to split. My wife wears hers fairly regularly. My personal go tos are the white on white checkerboards. I buy a couple of pairs at a time so that I always have a fresh pair.

I find them to be too tight. They don’t really seem to compensate with more volume in the upper. Had a pair, tried really hard, never really worked for me.
