Trolling is better when it’s less obvious lol

I just don't like the guy, he is ugly as **** and he looks like he stepped out of the ghetto to play ball. And he is taking the easy way out on how to win a championship. He should try to play all 82 games in a season at least once in his career or he should be a bench player. Faking an "injury" all season long and then playing 20+ playoff games in a row is just being dishonest. He also has an abismal 9,237 career points (compared to 33,655 from LeBron James) and he really thinks he is on the same level as the GOAT and be better than him.

Nothing shocking but worth reviewing. I turned it all off by the way. Doesn't stop everyone from send data to FB but apparently stops targeted ads. We'll see I guess. :paranoia:

You prefer to get random ads than targeted ads? Just to add to the conversation, we use a Facebook pixel on our site specifically because we don’t believe in communicating with users that have absolutely nothing to do with our audience. We want to be able to advertise sales and relevant promotions to people who (possibly) care about that. As a corollary, the return on investment for an ad that doesn’t target correctly is incredibly low (what % of the overall fb user base would have any interest in our ads?) which in turn would make it very expensive to market our offerings, meaning products would have to be priced higher in order to ensure the business’s survival.

Are you trying to make me feel bad for running Ghostery (get it here: https://www.ghostery.com)

and adblock (get it here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-—-best-ad-blocker/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom)

so that I am blocking annoying ads and trackers on every site that I visit so that I don't have an annoying web experience?

No I’m not trying to do that. I think it’s fine to not want to see any ads.

but if you’re NOT blocking ads, then I want to discuss the benefits of targeted vs random ads

I don't begrudge businesses using targeted data to reach customers.I just don't like being a digital sheep with my personal data being used by anyone. Naive in today's world maybe? I can't remember the last time a digital ad got me to click unless it was some fabulous babe advertising for a company I wouldn't shop at in a million years anyway.

Using your company as an example, I am already on the email list and follow you on IG as well as on SF. I don't need any targeted ads.

It’s very nice and somewhat poetic (the sheep part) but you didn’t address the question. If you are not blocking ads, do you actually prefer to be served ads that don’t concern you at all? Rather than ads from sites you frequently visit?

do you also not like Netflix recommending shows to you or Spotify/Apple Music trying to understand what you like?
