I saw 2-3 dudes wearing Hokas today and they looked supremely comfy.. I dunno, I just feel like I can't be bothered to take on and off these boots

I seem to have a 0% success rate when it comes to buying jeans or sneakers online.

Even with stuff that should be standardized like Nike. It's so frustrating!

In a related matter, can anyone recommend a nice high-rise selvage denim? I want a good, slim pair of jeans that I can tuck a dress shirt into. My options seem to be baggy 1950s mechanic cosplay or a birth-control crushingly small topblock.

I’m still looking for the perfect pair but have had success with Sid Mashburn, Anglo Italian and Drakes. The jackets and jeans forum is worth visiting too.

Anglo Italian, Drake's, Blackhorse Lane NW1, and Levi's Vintage Clothing 1947 501s work well with dress shirts and sport coats. Some guys also like Orslow 107 or 105 for this.

I don't really like Hokas for everyday wear, but man, they are so dang comfortable for running. After trying them out and comparing them to a variety of other running shoes, nothing really compares.

I’m a broken record with my recommendation, but I’m 100% sold on getting denim from Todd Shelton. I get my custom fits, can play with the rise and taper and such. They’re made on demand, so I never have to worry about whether I can find what I want in stock.

Friday I was in the Pro Original Darks which I wear with a higher rise and a cleaner leg. Today I’m in Pro Original Raws, which I wear with a lower rise and a less “refined” fit.

I think the Levi’s LVC 1947 & 1954 501 jeans are slimmer cut with a higher rise. If you live by a Levi’s store that carries the LVC line, you can try them out in person.

The fit is the most important for jeans IMO. If you have bigger thighs and smaller calves like me, you’ll want a straighter cut jean with roomier thighs and a slight taper. I like a bit of a longer inseam for stacking to keep away the dad jean look.
