Yeah, I'll do that when I become less lazy. I don't want to go through the past 30 pages or so picking out the the posts right now.

Love Tadich Grill. Been years since I’ve been there. The waiter was charmingly, absurdly rude.

in other words it's just as likely that the *actual* answer will emerge here in a fashion forum.

I go pretty much every time I am in town. I like having a booth with just a friend or two. That, and Kokkari. I am nearly only ever in San Francisco for work, and mostly, I use a service like TryCaviar after a long day of meetings, but on occasion that I do go out for dinner, I prefer places with hearty food that are going to fill my belly.

I wish I was optimistic as the people who post links to long articles thinking that anyone is going to read the content therein.

Pretty sure i’m younger than you, lobster thermidor sounds ok to me, though the fry everything then sugar glaze everything then add bacon with melted cheese on top American thing really does not do it for me...

The thing is, it's not (just) about the excess; it's about the execution. Pretty much everything about this sandwich was darn near perfect: the chicken was fresh from the frier with thin, crunchy breading and incredibly most flesh; the egg was tender with a semi-molten yolk and a hint of crispness around the edges; the honey butter added a subtle sweetness, while the creaminess played against and helped diffuse the acidity of the hot sauce; the donut was fresh, soft, and pillowy, supporting the rest of the ingredients without drowning them out or overwhelming any of the flavors.

Cut a Dunkin Donut in half, throw on a piece of KFC and an egg from an egg McMuffin, add corn syrup-sweetened shortening and whatever passes for hot sauce at your average quick-serve restaurant, and you'd just have a stack of fatty, deep-fried garbage that would go straight to your arteries barely brushing your taste buds.

I say this as someone who doesn't generally enjoy fried foods, heavy dairy products, or desserts.
