Thanks for all the recommendations! I do despair at the possibility of having to wear dad shoes, which I really don't like. Does anyone know of anything with a more slim silhouette, for example Adidas Sambas, which I find very nice. Any middle ground that anyone knows about?

While I love chunky sneakers ,and think that the Air Force One is the King of comfort to boot, maybe thick of something, maybe something like Chucks, but with an anatomical insole, might work. There are cool collabs with Rick Owen and Stussy, among others, so you could still save your style.

Less a thought than a question: does anyone know of any vintage/classic looking sneakers/everyday shoes with a soft, relatively thick sole +/- some arch support.

I've developed some plantar fasciitis because of my flat feet and lots of sports, and have been forced to wear running shoes, all of which don't fit with my style at all (something between all black archive and heritage workwear).

Any suggestions would be amazing, please help me not have to wear my awful Brooks running shoes anymore.

A bit late to reply, but I'm in a similar boat except I can't wear zero-drop shoes (sorry, Chucks). I've settled on New Balance 574 that even come in wide to suit my wider feet. Now, I really look like a hipster dad.

I seem to remember reading a long time ago that Rick was completely against accessories ie no sunglasses, hats, watches, bracelets etc. I guess that’s changed since I just saw he’s selling most of that now (hey $$$$). Which leads me to the realization of what type of watch would you wear with Rick? Who was that designer that made rings from his own skin again? Probably something like that haha a Rolex or something flash would seem out of place to me
