Thanks, guys! Will do. My dream job is to dig through their archives and reissue/update some of their classic designs. Luckily for me, my program here has an archive of outdoor catalogs, including ones from this company as far back as 1945. 😍
It must have taken a lot of courage to chase your dream career later in life, I really hope it plays out for you!

You should definitely post some pics of those catalogs sometime!

Recommendations for blue corduroy pants, trouser or 5 pocket but no easy pants or pleats?

Orslow only have the 107 fit, which was too narrow in the largest size they have and Glenn’s Denim didn’t quite make the cut for me.

Thanks, man. It’s been scary, exciting, fun, and stressful all in one.

J. Press has a few different shades of blue available. Maybe a bit too full cut though if you had been considering Orslow or Glenn’s.

Feels like there has been a surge of second-hand shops based in Japan now listing their wares on eBay. And yet, almost none of them provide any sizing info or measurements. They list their entire store's inventory without sizing info. It's so strange.

It's absolutely what's happening. Some of them are second-hand shops I know too. The lack of sizing info is really annoying, and they will not respond to requests for measurements on the whole, even when you ask in Japanese!

I've noticed this as well. Was pretty excited at first until I realized how uncharacteristically sparse the listings are with any details, even sizes. I was planning to try and cross reference Y auctions or see if they have more info on their own store websites with the same items when I had the chance, but kinda lost steam when I realized how much work it was going to be. I'd rather just do a primary search on YJ than start on eBay and work backwards at that point.

I just don't understand why you would take the effort to list so many things, take photos, make listings, etc, and then not list sizes. Nevermind measurements, but they don't even list the size. It seems like a crazy amount of wasted effort since no one is going to buy without a size.

A lot of them are just drop shippers with insane mark-ups — at least for the brands I look for.

Last week, I saw the same coat (with Kindal store watermarks) listed by three different sellers in one day.

Per @noob in 89 I find it's usually American drop shippers using some sort of automation software. The software must have trouble with Japanese because lots of info gets lost in translation. They have no affiliation with the store and often the item will sell on Y!JP, Mercari, or Rakuten, but the eBay listing will remain active until weeks later.

It's a low effort way for these Americans to make "passive income".
