For those of you with kids old enough to be aware that their dad is into clothes - do your kids think you look cool or super lame?
My two step kids don’t seem to care either way. But my daughter, who is 18, thinks it’s pretty cool especially when I give her my hand me down Margaret Howell knits. I do remember a time when she was younger when she told me (affectionately) that I look like an old-fashioned chimney sweep.

Isabel Marant is super dope, I've been really into her menswear the last few years.

On dad talk; my oldest (9 yo) just thinks everything I wear looks the same. My youngest will catch me browsing stuff on my laptop and no matter what it is he'll say "oh you have that in your room".

The final phase of being a stylefarmer is when even your fashion-interested partner or friend says this to you

hahah yeah she does, there's been at least 2 occasions where i've bought stuff for me and she's said "uhh don't you already have that?" and I covered by saying "oh yeah I bought this for you...". It only works when it's oversized outerwear but yeah, i'm 2 for 2 on that front and now she has some cool Haider and Lemaire stuff.

I have a question for people, shifted from the WAYWT where it doesn't really belong: where did the pearls trend come from, and what's it all about? I'm genuinely interested...

I don’t even think it is a trend aside from that one guy… I think gender fluidity has become a bigger and bigger thing with the younger generation (I say this as a 29 year old lol). I know a lot of Gen Z guys paint their nails and I just can’t get behind it either, but at the end of the day people will do what they want.

I think the pearls are just in line with the greater movement towards gender fluidity, that’s all. As far as who is influencing this stuff, I think it’s probably influencers on instagram and rappers (like young thug, asap rocky, lil uzi, etc.). That’s about as much as I would know as a semi-young person.

Do you really need an explanation beyond the fact that certain people find it cool or interesting, and over time a small or large trend can form? It's a sincere, seemingly trite answer, only because men have long tried to over-complicate their interest in fashion with hollow rationalizations like craftsmanship, quality, or innovative design. I don't see why we need to complicate men wearing jewelry.
