I prefer suede for truckers, and nubuck pushes it a little closer to smooth leather. I don't know. Except for the jersey lining, it seems like it can be OK.

I'm ambivalent about hip pockets on truckers. Silhouette wise, I think those types of jackets look better without that detail. But I can also see them being functional for storage or using as hand warmers.

What's your primary aversion to the jersey lining? I have my own, I'm just curious.

So true. My wife is a pattern maker and even though I’ve watched her work many times I still can’t fathom how she takes literally a few lines from the designer, then using just a set of french curves, a pencil and a knife is able to make that result in the perfect physical embodiment of the sketch. To understand how the final fabric will behave, how to create the right structure and movement is beyond me especially for some of the more avant garde designers she has worked with.

'Rock of Eye' is a great phrase

I just assume it'll catch a little more easily on knitwear. Aesthetically, I also would prefer it without. But it's sort of a small issue to me.

This is where I ask for alternatives? eBay is presently tapped out on PRL suede truckers, it seems.

I have probably an unreasonable dislike for nubuck, kudu, or chamois leather. It just eventually looks gross. Now, a good suede... ?

@whorishconsumer i hear what you’re saying about nubuck. And I personally prefer Lee-style slanted chest pockets, but all in all it looks good, and if it was a good deal, I’d keep it.

I did see this one which is really nice, an interesting lambskin rough side out, but a small:

I can't unhear @zissou calling it cheap.

I'm on the fence: if I'm going to take your advice and beat the hell out of it, best to have not spent too much on it. On the other hand, I have a couple decades of inculcation in the quality/inferior dichotomy and find it hard to value something that is by external observation cheap. I also wouldn't mind a lighter hue.

That lambskin trucker is a beaut. Too bad I'm a 42-44.

a 42, i always enjoy browsing their one-off section

Good looking out. I'm also a 42ish, but unfortunately it's just a bit too cropped and tight in the shoulder, based on the measurements.
