It's like an easter hunt to like regulars' posts in all the various threads and social media.

Might be worth asking people at PurseForum.

I think I can only handle membership in one clothing-related forum.

Smaller makers. I'm looking at a Clegg purse presently, as I have a couple of their bags already, but am wondering what else is out there.

Sorry can't help you. My purse buying is all limited to the usual suspects. I made the mistake of buying some nice things from "unknown" makers in the past and getting a quizzical "who the heck is this" look. Never again.

April In Paris does some cool stuff. Former Hermes purse maker opened her own shop in SF. Pricey but not marked up like some name brands.

AiP's quality isn't what it used to be. Beatrice sadly developed arthritis and has mostly switched to a teaching position. Nearly all the items are made by students. On their website, you can see how the quality of the stitching can vary wildly because it's it depends on who's actually making the item. I've heard Beatrice still makes the very expensive handbags, but don't know for sure. If you wanted that kind of AiP bag, I think you would be better off with Chester Mox or Hosoi in Paris.

That said, this still feels very much like a menswear centric point of view. I feel like people who think more about purses will have different and better ways of thinking about purses.

Can I type out of my questions here and then one of you can take a screenshot and post it to Purse Forum? Or maybe I can call them...
