Agreed. I grew up with it (turning 40 next year), alongside various noise, darkwave and goth. Ive literally been listening to black metal since I was 15, and it will probably always have a place.Second wave was also my favorite. I have always been a big fan of Emperor.
I think peak hipster era was during the early 2000s when Southern Lord started flooding record stores with shitty US black metal (Xastur, Wolves in the Throne Room, etc). When all of the early Darkthrone, Emperor, Burzum, Satyricon, Immortal, Dissection, etc stuff was coming out only true metalhead freaks cared.No, you're wrong.
