OK I have a decently fast laptop and good internet.

Why is the Endclothing website taking forever and a day to load a page? Using Chrome.

the answer was always in front of you

Because the whole world is sitting home on zoom or netflix or whatever stressing internet's infrastructure.

Me: I wonder if I could sew a reasonably effective face mask myself; too bad I don't really have any fabric
Also me: owns a tote bag full of other tote bags

Anyone else growing a quarantine beard? Never grown a beard because I always hit an awkward patch at week 3 and give up.

Feel like now is the time, since I’ll be home for at least a month. If it looks dumb no one will ever know.

Also curious if we will see a bunch of buzz cuts after this is all over.

I usually have a decent-sized beard and it was a good 2.5-3 inches long going into the quarantine, but I buzzed it off and am using this time to try out a mustache.

I am (trying). I have never made it past the three week mark - which I just hit. So far, it is pretty damn hideous.

Related, but I was overdue for a haircut when we went into social distancing and the place where I got my haircut closed. I usually get my hair cut every month. Now there is a very good chance I will go 3-4 months with no haircut

This is going to get hilarious

It’s not a terrible experiment. I think people get haircuts too often for the most part. Not a big deal and getting an extra haircut is harmless to yourself and society.

But why would anyone need a haircut every week or two if he is not in the military? Seems like a waste of time and money.

I'm just gonna wear Carhartt mainline when the whole global economic system fails in a couple months from now. Just a random fashion thought.

In Midnight’s Children, Salmon Rushdie wrote of the ‘worms’ that sprout from a balding man’s head, terrible side hairs that grow several times faster than what’s on top. That’s one reason. Mine can be lopped with a steady hand and the surety of my razor; others aren’t so lucky.
