• CALLING ON HOME SEWERS TO HELP HEALTHCARE WORKERS FIGHTING COVID-19

The lack of proper masks, gowns, and eyewear equipment is making it difficult for health workers to do their work fighting the novel coronavirus. In a recent New York Times article, medical workers said they were worried about how they can both fight the coronavirus without imperiling themselves, as well as their loved ones when they go back home.

If you are a home sewer, please consider helping my joining Hickey Freman Technical Vice President Jeffery Diduch in his effort to produce and deliver homemade gowns and masks to medical professionals in the greater Rochester, New York Area. Read about how you can help here

I keep to-do lists in Google Tasks. I maintain one for stuff to sell. Also track things like sizes in different brands.

To what depth do people track what's in their wardrobe?

Had a sleepless night yesterday and decided to begin tabulating everything I own onto a google sheet. Feel like it's going to real useful when working out what to get rid of.

Fragmentation isn't really something you want in 2nd hand marketplaces. Gotta sell me pretty hard to convince me I should move from a different platform with more eyes on my listings.

And no fees? Sounds unsustainable.

That’s been happening a lot with the move, but mostly with bike parts and car parts.
I enjoy the mystery of opening a random box of clothing stashed in the basement and being like "oh I forgot I owned that"

In the past year I completely Konmari'd my wardrobe to the point where I don't even need a spreadsheet. Feels good!

Re: tracking purchases, I like to open folders each month and just save photos of what I bought. I have a return folder if the item is sent back. The photos come handy too if I ever decide to sell something down the road. I like the visual aspect of this process as well. At the end of the year I can also do a big photo dump in the recent purchase thread.
