Hasn't been for years. Not sure what to say bro. A nice shop though.

I was just there today and I wanted to post in the affiliate forum but then found it was closed. Man the time flies.

Any recommendations for chunky, rubber soled brogues? I already have a oxblood-ish pair from Burberry but would like an all black one as well. I've been looking at Prada and Trickers, also tried Dr. Martens at a local department store but the hard as **** (and slippery) soles and the paper-thin corrected grain plastic 'leather' were a real turn-off.

I've heard bad things about Sanders but I liked the pictures of the brogues they did with Gloverall. Might not have an all black pair though. Church's Mcfarlane II look pretty good too. I'd say Trickers would be your best bet though?

Tricker's Bourton - watch the thread, you should be able to get them cheaper during an outlet sale.

Haven't owned any, but if you were looking at Docs, Solovair is supposed to be a good alternative. Trickers is the first thing that comes to mind for me, though. Maybe look at Paraboot, too.

@Nyarlathotep I've had good experiences with Sanders. They definitely have a few chunky black shoes, probably Dainite style rubber soles though, not the chunky rubber like Docs etc.

And what about Grenson. Haven't looked in a while, but they seem to do this kind of thing.

didn't sanders make the mcnairy ones? those seemed decent. back when docs were made in england i had a great pair, they had the 'bouncing' sole with iirc full grain leather, they were two tone brown and white. those can still be found as vintage for not much at all
