1. Hi. We moved systems, and because it was impossible to achieve feature parity between the systems, we opted to archive the old B&S threads but allow users to read them so that they can put them into our new B&S system.

There is a support thread if you have any issues.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

I love the idea of these--it'd be nice to see some negative commentary as well though since you all are voices in fashion we can trust--with both the positive and the negative, and I feel having a more balanced perspective would add more to the authenticity of these reviews--I'm sure you're only reviewing brands you like to begin with, but every brand has its flaws.

Is it really necessary to write "NEW" in the thread topic titles? We'll see it. Inevitably this entire front page is going to be full of "NEW" topics.

Yeah, YOU'LL see it, but we want to remind the occasional reader that we're still putting up new content. When a thread has been up a few days to a week, I'll pull the "NEW." [IMG]

To lmaozedong, I endeavored to be honest in my reviews and my reactions are authentic, although the digs may be more subtle than the positive comments. And yeah, there's some damning with faint praise, or lack of coverage. There's still more to come, of course.

And the guideline to keep comments civil doesn't mean you guys can't call an ugly shoe ugly.

Oh yeah--I definitely know you're being honest. That's part of why these reviews are so great--we all know you honestly love these products and are passionate about them.

Australians will be receiving FW09 in spring i.e in the next month or so. Production is still done in Australia from what I understand.

That's good to hear, thanks for the info.

Just wanted to update you guys on Capsule. I shot over ten brands yesterday and we'll be preparing Q&As with several designers in the coming weeks.

I also hope to have the Inspiration piece up by tomorrow depending on how things go here in Vegas.

NYC was very successful for us but personally I've been more excited about what I've seen out here. I don't want to give it away just yet but there are a few brands under the radar right now that I think people here will really like.

For the Krane fans, this is Ken's best season to date.

For the Mr.Olive fans, you will love the leather.

Time to get back to work, a chore made harder by Kill City's constant attempts at destroying what's left of my liver.

Yeah, I felt a little bait-n-switched by the capsule site, which had Garbstore and Mjolk, among others I would have liked to see, on the list until just a few days before the show. I think they may have just had a generic capsule list up and posted the actual NY list late. Just speculation.

ARW, I think you would have enjoyed Creep, for which we'll post some pics, and Vanishing Elephant, who I checked out but didn't speak with.

Whats the deal with Creep. Seems like none of their stockists listed on their website have anything listed from them. I know lavish & squalor had some of their FW09 stuff so maybe theyre getting SS10, but the FW09 stuff was only their corduroy shirts so maybe none of the more interesting stuff.

Curiosity question as I am not in NYC etc where I frequent the boutique shops.

For a number of the lines mentioned here, how many pieces do they typically make of any item? When I have ben into a small boutique of one of th new designers or a shop that carries a couple of lines, I have had the impression form the SA's that they only ever have "a few" of each shirt in the size ranges for example..

So when Reid or somebody comes out with their new line, is a particular shirt made to 50 copies? 100? 5000?

Depends on how many are ordered by the retailers themselves prior to that season. Within reason, items are only as exclusive as the retailers want them to be or how well they think they will sell.

    WMM, no. John Rich, no.

Thanks- can you ballpark what's typical?

Maybe I wasn't too clear. How many of item x gets made by company abc depends on: -How many retailers and which retailers choose to carry company abc -How big of a company abc is to begin with -The limited nature of the product itself -The kind of product being sold (pants, shirt, hat) compared to what the retailer is already carrying -The cost of the product Maybe now you'll see why there's no such thing as a "typical" ballpark. Far too many variables. It could be a couple hundred a season to a few dozen.
