Any tips?

I currently wear penny loafers and have been for a while, but they're just Boss Bront ones from Bloomingdale Outlet. Not the most preferred option in this community but just been so comfortable for the past 8 years of wear. I dont expect fit to be anything similar as Rancourts. I had Ferragamo loafers many years ago but barely wore them since they felt uncomfortably narrow at E.
Best advice I can give is to take a vacation to Maine, visit the store, get fitted, try on multiple sizes etc. Then jump into Shell.
There are lots of things to do and see in Maine.
Your family will enjoy the vacation and in the long run, you will save money and time trying to find your size/style combo.

Looks like my order may have to wait a while then. We were actually just talking about visiting Maine sometime this summer since I have a cousin that lives in Portland with his family.

I was hoping the try-on program would be sufficient but maybe the whole shebang is needed for an investment in shell.

I am over 10 pairs in with several that don't fit. I have a narrow foot and high instep and am traditionally hard to fit. Figure I have experimented and sunk $400-$800 in shoes that didn't work out, even with the try-on program. I almost could have bought a flight and overnight stay and avoided all the lost time.

I did pull the trigger on a shell MTO. fingers crossed

Should I go TTS on Camp Moc in CXL? I take 8.5 or 9 depending on maker. I wear 9E Quoddy Camp Mocs for reference...

FYI, the store they had in Portland has closed, so for trying on their shoes currently you'd need to visit the store at their factory in Lewiston, which means a Monday thru Friday visit. But before you make that trek you'd probably want to call ahead to ensure they have the correct sizes needed for the model you want, or at least comparable fit models, to ensure you don't waste a trip. Their "in stock" styles can sometimes be spotty depending on demand, so best to check first.

Also, Portland Dry Goods in Portland occasionally stocks some Rancourt Shoes - I don't see any on their website currently, but possible they could have a couple models in stock as well, which might save you a trip to Lewiston.

Caramel heading into the weekend. Kicking it off by spending the day driving around in holiday traffic for doctor's follow up visits, gonna be a real rapturous blisscake-extreme kind of day.

Interestingly enough they don't look quite as red in the morning light as they usually do in the shade.

I hope everyone has an awesome, fun and safe July 4th weekend! And of course the same for those who don't celebrate the holiday - May your Friday be better than mine!

Those mocs are sublime. They inspired many a custom makeup by me from Rancourt. Thanks for sharing.

My man! Caramel is such a killer color. I really want a venetian in either caramel or - swoon - color 4 but I’m at capacity for slip-ons right now.

Another pair that will just sit and collect dust along with the rest of them makes no sense.

Have a great 4th!

Looking good both of you! My caramel pinch pennies (photo in my profile) are my favorite Rancourt and one of my absolute all time favorite pairs of shoes.

Happy 4th!

My Ranger Natty CXL, 1/2 size down, sockless only.
With Happy feet inserts these are sooooo comfortable.
One of my most comfortable pair of shoes.
They arrived with a dark patina and are getting even darker, love it.
You can tell I was putting up strawberry jam while wearing these. Photos can be unforgiving.
