. Wore them for the first time yesterday.....5 hours straight with no real sore spots.
And they threw in some leather coasters, which was nice

Nice. How did you arrange these to be made? Did Rancourt have the leather on hand, was it a special order, or did you source it yourself?

Rancourt actually received a sampling of Marbled Black Shell Cordovan and Marbled Color #8 Shell Cordovan from Horween. I decided to go for the Black because I prefer its contrast and had just ordered a pair of Marbled #8 from AE. You can call Rancourt and request non-standard Shell shades if you are willing to wait. That is how I got all of my Color #4 shoes although now Rancourt is trying to keep a small inventory of Color #4 on hand as they really like the shade as well... If you PM me, I can give you more specifics...

Thanks,
Mike

Camel kudu suede and marigold suede Eastports are in. One small problem. The camel kudu pair are Beefrolls instead. Guess I will be sending them back. Regardless I figured I’d post the pics. 9D if anyone decides they’ve been longing for Camel Kudu Beefrolls.

I was in the garage when the Fedex truck pulled up. Wonder what he is dropping off.
Crowd Funded Natty Rangers! Welcome to the family boys.

I ordered these in a 10.5B and was concerned. The 10.5B Downeast I have seem a bit short as do the 10.5B Acadia's. This pair fits perfectly. Lots of room in the toe length and width is snug with a gap in the upper quarters to allow for stretching.

I wore them around the house for a little while and they are comfy. The soles are a bit firm. The RLH soles on these make them uber-comfy. I am very happy to have participated int he Crowdfunding program.
These are fantastic shoes

The Acadias in the photo are Bison leather and it is very supple.

Decided I might just keep the camel kudu beefrolls. While the collar on the beefrolls doesn't fit me as well as the eastport pinch penny style I imagine I'm the only one that cares/notices anyway. Plus they look great.

I was about to sell these off, but the custom order mishap made me reconsider how I feel about beefrolls and the rather minor collar fit issue I have with them. Not sure what I will do about those color 8 CXL Eastports that should be in within the next week or two. Doubt I will keep both.

Soles Question
Hi Rancourt family! I could use your feedback regarding RJH soles and gait.
I have a pair of Downeast Ranger Mocs with the RLH Crepe soles. These have the stepped heel. After wearing them for a short time, I experience cramps in my feet and calves. My feet actually feel fatigued after wearing the shoes for a short time. I think it is from the thick soft heel on the RLH Crepe soles. The crepe soles seem to bounce or spring when I step forward and I think this causes a weird gait. I have a pair of the Rangers with RLH Aspen soles, standard camp soles, and a pair of Clymers in the same size and none of them cause muscle cramps or foot fatigue.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something that you were able to get used to after wearing the shoes for longer periods of time.

I am not sure what to do with this. I had them back to Rancourt to check the size and stretch them a little but I think it is the soles causing the problem.
Thanks in advance.
