Hello all,

I have a few questions regarding the RLPL suit I found. I am currently on my vacation in Japan and decided to do some thrift shopping. I came across this RLPL Suit, perfect condition, and fit me like a glove. Most importantly, it is a size 34S (44C EU). It is my first time in my life to find something in a size 34S... 34R is difficult, but 34S... I have to admit that it was impossible... until I found this of course. Though, I had to decide whether to get the Sartorio Napoli Sportcoat or this. The price was around $500.

The questions are:

1. Who made the suit?
I understand that RLPL used St. Andrews, and now is using Caruso. I wonder who was the maker of this suit, considering the tags and the labels?

2. Does the 4x2 DB suit common these days?

Thanks!

1. It's made by Caruso

2. If you're more comfortable with 6x2, you could always just add two more buttons. I also have a Custom Fit RLPL with 4x2, never bothered me.

However, that's a pretty loud pinstripe. Not sure in what context you're going to use it, but It's really not too suitable for work.

From personal experience, St. Andrews can have a bit more structured shoulders.
I own, and have owned a few from each, but never bothered to go through the fine details. I just like the styling of RLPL.

Some will say that St. Andrews has a bit more handwork and details.

The suit I bought was from the 2011. I believe Caruso was making the RLPL suit at that time as well.

Anyone has pictures of the inner tags of both the Caruso and Saint Andrews?

St. Andrew looks like this

The Caruso will have a Purple colored tag, and the standard "Ralph Lauren Hand Tailored" + Name + Date tag

Sorry to dig up an old post, but does anyone know who made this RRL suit blazer??? I was told maybe Caruso, but the label doesn't look right for Caruso (to my untrained eye).

it could be corneliani. that's reported by multiple sources as another maker for RL suits/jackets
