Not sure if it has already been said, but a friend of mine works at the Ralph Lauren store here in Palo Alto. The sale has actually been going on since Monday, but the additional 15% (on top of the 40%) will be on Thursday only. The selection is not limited at all, and as hard as it is to believe, include everything currently in the store (other than a select few items I believe). This includes all of the different colored solid stripe PL shirts from this season, shoes, etc. Only problem is that here in Palo Alto, they only have one model of PL shoes: Bentley Driver Mocs.....

Also keep in mind that you have to have gotten the additional 15% coupon in the mail to get the discount, unless you are really nice

You also have to be an RL mailing list member to be able to go to the sale in general.

Just back from some polo reconnaissance at the San Francisco store and the sale is going on right now. Practiacally everything is on sale. I was even offered the 15% off today and Thursday (they're like drug dealers). I have a pair of the EG Perrings on hold (the only Purple Label they carry) and a few small items.

Unless I'm missing something, that's not true over the 'net. The selection of items identified as "sale" items on the website is pretty limited, and if I had a pair of shoes to my "shopping basket" they total up at a non-discount price.

Different 40%-off sale. The one on Polo.com when you simply click "Sale" has been going for months. That is simply their regular "Sale" section and is unaffiliated with the current week-long store sale.

Oh, ok. If the sale is b&m only then I am out by default. No RL shops around here that have the good stuff.

No, I think there will be an online markdown, it just hasn't happened yet. The current website "Sale" is simply for clearance items.
