Well I bought these shoes last year at Century 21 in NYC for about $40 last year and I mainly use them as my going out/bar shoes because they where so cheap. They have held up great over the past year and I wonder if anybody knows who could have made them?

Well if they say made in USA and by Ralph Lauren, then I am guessing that RL made them what else is there to know?

Ralph Lauren doesn't have a shoe manufacturing plant.

Pretty sure these were made by a company called Ansewn in Maine. There was a lot of discussion about this here and on AA about 6 months or so ago. I have a pair of loafers with the same style sole.

Found it. RL USA made shoes are made by Rancourt & Co: Link

Wow, good job, how the hell did you figure that out? Another question for you, who makes RLPL made in Italy

I was browsing Horween's blog, and there were some pictures from the factory. I recognized the sole instantly.

These shoes have been passed off as Alden for a while now. I am 98% sure, judging by the pictures from their site, that Rancourt makes USA RL shoes.
