Ralph Lauren Jacket Sizing?

I know that Ralph Lauren sizing as far as S M L XL goes, RL classic fits runs big compared to other companies. Usually around a size or so(in my experience). But what about their jackets? I'm interested in purchasing a corduroy jacket from them, and when i measured my chest length, it is 1 inch less than the size of the jacket. Do you think it will be true to size and just have a little room?(what i kind of want it to be) or would it be humongoid? i suppose i could always get it tailored in the future perhaps? I don't know, i'm not to knowledgeable on suits or jackets or anything, so your help is appreciated

Too small for you. If the measurement you are comparing is the actual measurement taken of the jacket.

My chest is 39.2 inches and I am fine in polo and RLPL 40Rs. You should be fine.

No. It will be just right. Size 42 jackets typically have 46" chest measurements

what do 44R jackets measure as? I'm considering that since i want a loose fit. my chest size is actually 43(threw the 41 out there as an example of 1 up sizing), so it's like, do i go with the 42 or 44? those are the only 2 choices for it lol. if the 42 is 46 inches it sounds like it will be the good loose fitting i'm looking for, but idk. maybe i'll just order both and return what i don't want.

I have a 43 chest as well. I was just at the Polo store and decided to go with a 44 in the blue label. 42 was too snug in the chest.

thanks man. you swayed mah decision. 44 it is.

plus it will be better because i wanna rock a hoodie with it as well for a casual look, but then i can always wear an ocbd and khaki's for less casualness
