i read here in an old thread that green label was"poorly constructed"...but the thread was from almost 6 years ago so i figured we would have a description that wasn't so abstract at this point.

@musicguy- i started this thread because i own 2 pieces from that line and was considering another purchase.

By green label you meant the Lauren by Ralph Lauren? Then they're not even Ralph Lauren to begin with.

Yes the green label aint real Ralph Lauren period.

I guess people would not complain about it if the price point of that stuff was like $100 for a suit (jacket plus pants). That would be about fair and then noone could complain knowing you get what you pay for. However that is not the reality. Reality is you would pay something like $300 and that is hardly value for money.

I believe Lauren by RL is actually own by Peerless, Inc--not Ralph Lauren. You do not see green label items in Ralph Lauren stores, or online: you only see them in retail stores (Macy's, Dillards), outlet stores, and discount stores.

The quality of the items is low, probably on par with JAB or Men's Wearhouse stuff.

Ralph Lauren also makes cheaper items under the blue label (typically blue is the Polo Label, but it usually doesn't say Polo Ralph Lauren), that you will also find in retail, outlet, and discount stores. These items are also not as good as the Polo blue label, RRL, Black, or Purple label stuff, but not as abhorrent as the Green Label stuff.

@Klobber & AlmostFullBenefits- thanks, those answers cleared things up for me and i realize that i may never by from that line again.

i bought the pants off the clearence rack for 30 bucks and the sports jacket was marked down from 275.00 to 109.00.i used a 25% off coupon and got it for 82.00.My last purchase from that line for sure.

I agree. Polo Label is however real hit and miss, some exceptional stuff for great price/value, and some pretty average offerings in the mix. Still I like the Polo label generally, just wish they would stop sticking ponies on everything

I would exclusively only ever purchase the RLBL or RLPL stuff but only slight snag is that it costs a pretty penny - hence filling a wardrobe with their shirts or suits needs a fairly substantial bank account.

RLPL is on par with Gucci, Luis vuitton and all the other mega expensive clothing but a lot of their clothes seem to be more low key, no huge emblem or patterns to advertise for the most part.i was shocked to see the shirt below on their website, but not disappointed and for a mere 300 bucks it can be yours -___-
