Hi I've christened my first pair of leather soled shoes by walking through an unexpected rain. I've noticed that my uppers has experienced some watermarks. My particular pair is burgundy but does this happen to black shoes? If not I am thinking about getting a pair of black shoes with rubber soles as a 'goto' shoes for a rainy day.

What do you think? Is this a sensible idea? Also please tell me what you wear when you walk in the rain (other than the rubber overshoes and wellies).

Stains are usually less noticeable on black. Rubber sole is a good idea for rainy weather. Good use of a wax polish will help protect against rain.

Hi thanks for the reply. :) I'll go ahead and give my shoes a good polish.

Btw does anyone know what a storm welt is? Apparently its helpful to keep the moisture out.
