Raglan Sleeve Coat Fit

How should it fit? I have a choice between a 44L and 46L Raglan Sleeve Sanyo Trenchcoat I believe it is this model. Im not sure how a raglan sleeve should fit. Is there supposed to be alot of room in the chest/waist (almost like Im swimming in it) and look bulky or should it fit like a regular trench with a seamed shoulder. I am probably in between sizes but which way should I go more fitted or bulky?

The one I have fits roomier in the shoulders than an equivalent size regular overcoat. So I definitely wouldn't size up, you may even possibly need to size down. Try on whilst wearing a jacket.

I have tried both and the 44L doesnt have tons of chest room but the 46L is very big and looks very bulky.
Also armholes seem lower on 46L makes for roomyness as well as easier to take on and off.

put the raglan coat on over a suit coat or a sport coat.
button up ,and sit down in a chair.
pretend you are driving. thats the test for an outer coat.

I have the exact coat in a 44R . They really run big although the shoulders fit.
The body of the coat is really full especially after I removed the lining, which
is really not needed where I live. Otherwise an excellent coat. BTW, I wear 44R
jackets and have one 46 R suit

Not sure what exactly I am testing for?

Enough room to swing arms forward?
