The shirt collars really stood out to me in this film, I did a little googleing, and couldn't find much evidence that these were the most common shirt collars of the time. The movie for those of you who don't know is set in the mid-late 1940's.

Here is an example;

Literally all males in the film had collars this long and narrow of a collar, is this really how it was?

Only ever seen this ridiculous sight in Scorsese/deNiro/Pesci type films, NEVER in real life.

Somehow I doubt Scorcese invented this style. It must come from somewhere. NYC Italian working-class style at the time?

That collar is something you'd only see in a 1990s NBA draft suit.

Raging Bull takes place in the 40's and 50's so, yes, Italian shirt collars were like that back then.
