I'm pondering in buying a Raffaele Caruso suit on Yoox, also looking at Isaia and Raf Simons. I'm 6ft tall, in shape but slim in build with 40 inc chest measure. Do you think the Italian size 48 would be a good fit for me?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It would be too small. An Italian size 48 is actually the equivalent of about a 37.5" USA, a little smaller than a US38. You need an Italian size 50, which translates to approximately a 39 USA.

Before you decide to buy Size 40 you should take in consideration that suit makers such as Attolini, Caraceni, Kiton , Brioni, Caruso, Cantarelli and many others of their ilk all make oversize sacks for older men. None of them are particularly slim. So if you have slim built I would order full size down in all of these brands.

That's true for the suits that they make for the American market. However, anything from Yoox is typically European market (so, slimmer, and drop 7).

I'm a 38S in most US brands and RCSP 48 is a bit slim in the Euro sizing for me. I agree with those who recommend 50 for a guy of your build.

I'd try to find some place to try the thing on.

I've got a 39 inch chest and am a few inches short of you. Depending on the brand I can wear a 48,50 or a 52. By the tape measure I'm a 49 so a 50 should always fit but they don't always.

Do caruso jackets run on the long side? ie what would the BOC measurement be for a 40R?
