Hi chaps

I've been invited to a horse racing event over the Easter period and, having never been before, I'm curious as to what is appropriate clothing?

We have standard tickets, but there is the option to enter the Club enclosure on the day, so I want to keep my sartorial options open. Would dark jeans, shirt (I'm thinking of staying fairly traditional and going for a Tattersall check) and sports jacket/blazer be acceptable? Naturally, for the UK, the weather on the day will dictate to some extent, but any advice is greatly appreciated!

Depends on the course. Newmarket perhaps? A suit is always default. Your outerwear can be a bit more rugged than other courses.

This one is at Sandown Park – they've got some dress code tips on their site and it sounds depressingly casual. I'll look to make a bit more effort though!
