i think her unaccompanied Bach was one of the things i had in mind.

Are you sure? Fischer's Bach Sonatas & Partitas were among the best reviewed lately. http://www.sa-cd.net/showtitle/2966

Her double stops are totally ridiculous --- I think I could listen to them all day. I remember a Beethoven violin concerto she played in Santa Barbara where the color of each tone was so pure, distinct, and striking. Beethoven wasn't something I had associated with color until then. The ease with which she plays the Stravinsky violin concerto is also breathtaking. Of course, there's Der Erlkoenig:

Hadn't heard the Schubert before, fantastic.

AF - I was thinking of Hahn but haven't heard the Fischer recordings. Focused tone is not always a compliment of course. It sometimes lacks the dynamic sweep of other styles... Just depends what you like I suppose.
