r there still untouchables in India???

hi guys im taking a world civilization class in my nite school we study all different kinda cultures and today the teacher mr gardener was talking about all the unfair stuff that goes on in the world with the rich an poor people he said that in india there are people who hafta sweep the street and stuff and thats all they can do xcept mebee shovel poop and stuff and no one wants these peoiple to touch em or they get dirty does stuff like this still happen do ya think???? i said i think its messed up and the mr gardener said that its still this way but not so much in the city but more in villiages rural inverioments.....what do you think????? do you think thats why a lotta people come to america to leave behind all there problems and get some new opportunitys??? i think so and thats why i love America!!!!

hey, you'll apprectiate this - I am in KL today, first time I am in "real" asia in a bit over 3 years, so it is a nice feeling. great food. hope to get to india by december.

As an aside, please take a look at my thread in the politics forum, and let me know what you think, but please don't take offence, because before Lebanon I never concerned myself with the Israel issue, and so know little about it (although I do know the basics). The reason I am now concerned with the issue is because I have many Lebanese friends.

Err, a racist caste system is "not necessarily a bad thing"? Considering that and the phrase that began your post - i.e., "[t]here is nothing to think" -- you might want to refrain from throwing the term "closed-mindedness" around that beautiful glass house of yours.
