Quoting a previous reply

When reading through the forum, I frequently see something similar to:

(TimelessRider @ 07 Feb. 2004, 12:59)

However when I quote a post, all I get is:

I generally hit the Quote button right next to the post that I want to quote. Is there a different way of doing this that prints the username and timestamp?

Hmmm, that's really odd. When you click the "Quote" button to the right of the post, it should put the timestamp and name of the original poster above the quote box. I thought it didn't only when you copy and pasted someone's text and then quoted while you were composing your own post. Maybe you could try that (not clicking quote until you're writing your reply)?

Aha. I get it.

If you do a Preview, then it forgets who the quote was from and doesn't print it. If you Quote, then type your message and Add Reply without Previewing, then it prints the username and Timestamp.

Thanks for clearing that up. I admit I was confused as well. The documentation for ikonboard wasn't clear on the issue.
