Ladies let me tell you about myself
    I got a dick for a brain
And my brain, is gonna sell my ass to you
    Now I'm OK
But in time I'll find I'm stuck
    Cause she wants love
    And I still wanna fuck

Man, tha Greg Dulli sure has a way with words. Last time I saw the Twilight Singers, women were swooning over his bloated, misogynistic ass.

I'm sorry, but everytime I look at this thread this bothers me...

it is Ice T not Ice Tea. He'd probably "bust a cap in your ass" <make sure to say it in a totally uptight-cracker sort of way> for getting it wrong.

Maybe women prefer men to act like men instead of feminized neutered whiney boys [IMG] Just a theory here...but I've had the most luck with the opposite sex being a total jerk, so maybe there is something to it. Anyway back on topic...

    What the dizzle?

Apparently, I am not as down as I originally thought I was. I don't even know why I quoted that song, it just kinda popped into my head when I started the thread

    Prepare to edit...

" Hey, the roof is leakin' and the rains fallin'on my head
    it wont stop
The roof is leakin' and the rains fallin'on my head
    I need a mop
I cried so hard, teardrops on my bed, drippity-drop

Well, she packed up her bags and she moved out on the midnight train
    she's got no brain
She packed up her bags and she moved out on the midnight train,
    the girls insane
She took my heart, tears rollin' down my drain, just like rain

My buddy come to see me to give me a tip, tip, tip
I said now listen here friend, I tell ya I'm hip, hip, hip
Why don't you mind your own business, close your lip, lip, lip
I know when the girls give me the slip, slip, slip"

Oh, you know, I just reread what I wrote and I hope you didn't take it the wrong way. I'm a total white-y, so was trying to put in my Eddie Murphy-ish imitation of a white guy (i.e. me). Sorry, Tck, I didn't mean that to be you. bob

    And the soul, unwatched
    will soar in free flight,

    Not strauss, but:
    ---------
    "Let the eagle soar,
    Like she's never soared before.
From rocky coast to golden shore,
    Let the mighty eagle soar.
Soar with healing in her wings,
As the land beneath her sings:
    'Only god, no other kings.'
This country's far too young to die.
We've still got a lot of climbing to do,
And we can make it if we try.
    Built by toils and struggles
    God has led us through."

    You should.... follow.... me down
    In satellite town
There's no color and no sound
I'll be ten feet under ground
Gotta get out of this black & white town

One of the best songs ever.

    pretty much this whole song:

I will come for you at nighttime
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
As I go running along your street
I will squeeze the life out of you
You will make me laugh and make me cry
And we will never forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky

And we may never meet again
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me

I dreamed of you at nighttime
And I watched you in your sleep
I met you in high places
I touched your head and touched your feet
So if you disappear out of view
You know I will never say goodbye
And though I try to forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky...
And we may never meet again...
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me

and i still get stuck at:

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,

and before this is lost in the annals of Andy (a scary place if ever there was one)....

    In the (AAAC) Ghetto
    with apologies to Elvis Presley

    As the hard drive dies
On a cold and gray Seattle mornin'
A poor little Style Forumite arrives
    In the AAAC ghetto
    And Andy cries
'cause if there's one thing that he don't need
It's another hoodie wearin' mouth to feed
    In the ghetto

    People, don't you understand
The Style Forumite needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be a bleeding edge denim wearin' young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see,
Do we simply turn our heads
    And look the other way

    Well the world turns
And a denim clad boy with a runny nose
Plays online as the cold wind blows
    In the ghetto

    And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the web at night
And he learns about J. Press
    And he learns about trad
    In the ghetto

    Then one night in desperation
    A young man breaks away
He buys a sack suit, asks about a trad car,
Wears go-to-hell pants, but he don't get far
    And Harris cries

As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a ribbon watchband in his hand
    In the ghetto

    As the young man dies,
On a warm and sunny Socal mornin',
    Another Style Forumite arrives
    In the ghetto

Also, you really have to imagine Horace, Coolidge24, Brownshoe, MPCSB, Longwing, et al. in trad choir robes echoing "in the ghetto" each time Elvis sings that line.

Yeah, I really love that song. Why, is that minus cred points? [IMG]

Maybe it's because of how perfectly it applies to Seattle; that along with my fondness for 80s piano laden pop and a driving beat. And it's in my singing range.
