There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Email them and ask - they'll tell you to add your personal specifications in the comments box of your order.

    Hey thanks!

No problem. They'll do pretty much anything if you ask in my experience. I nearly fired on some crepe soled chukkas in burgundy with cross stitched toe box, which they said they could make for me, none of which were, or are, available on the site.

how can I pick these up in brown? thanks. steve washington dc
those were a limited production model they did a year or so ago. but you can still order it through quoddy. e-mail quoddy that picture and mention you want that exact model and they will tell you what model to order and then what to put in the "special instructions" portion of your order. but from the past few posts it seems like quoddy is taking especially long these day, like three months long? oak street bootmakers and yuketen have similar styles as well...

Looking for Quoddy Grizzly or Yuketen or something like it. I'm a 9D and live
where it snows. Let me know if you have something to sell, new or pre-owned.

Quoddy's are available everywhere now. Unless you really, really want some custom construction, I don't understand why you would choose to do the 3+ month wait. There are so many colorways and variations now. Gold versus silver eyelets...ya, nice having the option. But to wait 3 months for your gold eyelets when you can just order a readily available pair of comparables today? No brainer...but that's just my opinion. I guess if you have the patience, then no big deal - I admire that.

dahl5yankees - here are some options where you don't have to wait for Quoddy to construct the shoe:

    Grizzzly: http://needsupply.com/mens/shoes/grizzly-boot-1.html (US Domestic B&M)

    Grizzlies on Vibrams!!!

all these below are available in size 9. Quoddy's from experience are always TTS. Yuketens can be all over the place - so be careful.

you have some good points, the problem i have is i take a 1/2 size. and many times retailers dont do the half size thing. and yes, slack is right, quoddy sizing is NOTHING like yuketen sizing. slack, have you checked out these guys yet? http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=197103 and thanks again for your help on the RC sizing!

You're very right on that, actually, and I didn't even think about it. I'm fortunately a regular size 9 in Quoddy so I neglected to realize that a lot of stockist only carry whole sizes, and not halves. That is more than fair reason to custom order. So I definitely redact my statement above with re; to custom ordering.

Re; http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=197103 -- Yes, they have been catching my eye. I currently own too many pair of Quoddy's as is, but I see a pair of Oak Streets coming in the next 6 months [IMG]

And N/P on the RC sizing. Hope you're able to make something work there...

Nice boots. Those heritage grizzlies with the crepe sole for outdoor use are super.

End Clothing and Tres Bien (see links above) are both located in Europe. Quoddy's fit true to size, so assuming you know you're boyfriends normal shoe size - go with that.

quoddy has six international retailers. here is a complete list of them: http://www.quoddy.com/find.html

the ones mentioned by tide should be your best bet in terms of finding the best run of sizes. if you cannot find your size/style at any of the above, you can order direct through quoddy.

lol, not usually. these types of shoes, oak street bootmakers, yuketen, quoddy, are very limited in nature. as such, they rarely go on sale. as an owner of several pairs i can say you are getting a deal at full retail. i dont mean to sound like a dick but if your in it to buy "on sale" your not the right customer for these types of shoes.

That's true to an extent. There's no retailers with just a flat discount on Quoddys. But they're stock like any other stock and leftovers at the end of the season get discounted. With wider distribution every season that may actually happen more often than it has.

Demand is high though so sizes and styles that make it to sale are limited.

Haha. If I was in a position to buy these at full retail I would. For me personally it is hard to justify spending over $250 for a pair of shoes, but I think most of what Quoddy makes looks great and I'm sure their quality far exceeds anything put out by more commercialized brands like Sperry or Sebago. I'm glad we still make stuff in America.

yeah, i sound like a dick in that post. sorry...dont mean to. i just did some checking, try these guys: http://blog.leffot.com/page/5/ (scroll down to the bottom, you might be able to buy them at the discounted rate) they have a couple left if your an 8, 11.5 ,or 13 and if your into the blucher? also, i would do a search of their stocklist found on quoddys website. you might be able to find something i didnt.

yeah, i know what you mean. it is an "investment" but i can tell you they last for a LONG time. plus, resoling them is really quite cheap, so its nice. i wear mine every day and really beat them to death. the leather just gets better and better. this craft is really amazing if you think about it. so to me, the initial expense is easily justified because im not replacing shoes every couple of years. check around and you might be able to find something. but they rarely are found on sale. also check the for sale thread.

I actually really like the Quoddy blucher moc on sale Leffot blog website. Although what are the chances of them still having them if they went on sale in August? What is the sizing like of the blucher mocs?

may want to check and see. its possible... here is the deal with these shoes. they do run true to size. and the blucher is built very similar to their boat shoe so you will most likely be a D width. this particular shoe uses chromexel leather, which tends to have a little give in it. so, you want them to be tight but not to tight. they will not stretch out in the length (at least not much), but they obviously will in the width. so pay special attention to the fit on the width. i would order your dress shoe size and see how those feel.
