I did and it looked a bit sleeker than the C&J that I have, the Lowndes, double monk strapped.
Ealing seems more suitable with jeans and casual in general. Tetbury looks more sleek, maybe good with suits maybe I am not sure if it looks fine with jeans and a tweed jacket on.

Actually C&J uses the same 348 last on Tetbury and Lowndes. I found a few pictures of Tetbury paired with jean/pants/suits that some folks posted here earlier.

Try to imagine these in dark brown suede...

Hi,
I am having a bit of a dilemma. I like all three boots but I cannot make up my mind. I am looking for a boot that could be worn with a suit, and with jeans - for "casual smart".
I have a slight preference for the Tetbury for its chiselled toe - hopefully the correct terminology - but my lack of knowledge makes me wonder if it is appropriate to wear them with a suit ?

Chiltern

Ealing

Tetbury

Tetbury on the 348 last with its 'chiseled' toe will dress up jeans a little, but will also look plenty smart enough with a suit IMO. In other words, the perfect compromise.

I have both and find the Ealing sits better with jeans. It has a nice sleek shape but not overly dressy. I also wear the Tetbury with jeans and pair up ok but can look slightly too dressy with jeans. I guess it depends what else you're wearing with jeans. On balance I'd go with the Ealing, they're a cracking boot. I have a MTO pair in the pipeline.

Have you considered the Brecon? Its on last 341, which I like alot. Personally I find the 348 a little to sleek.

I found the Brecon to be more like a country boot. Not a sleek boot at all.
No one said Brecon is sleek. You got it all wrong. What it's sleek, and not just little, is that damn 348 ..

Yes, I know. My comment was more for the people who had no experience with the 341 last. This being, I have the Sydneys look quite sleek. I guess it's the apron stitching.

I would say that Brecon in black calf is pretty sleekly and goes well with a flannel suit as an example.

I guess it's more the wider welt that I have an issue with. In any case, flannel is less formal than worsted, so I can see where you're coming from.

Thoughts gents? Do you think the cardigan 4 is too casual to wear with slacks and a oxford shirt? Thinking navy slacks, grey, or brown like I am wearing in the picture.

I think it's a great look and works perfectly.
