The red ones are definitely not C&J, we would need to see the internal markings to tell for the brown onesOk guys, please indulge me. I’m not really a shoe head, or whatever you call yourselves. I’m just a semi-slob who is trying to upgrade his image without spending a lot of money. I’m doing this thanks to the good people at eBay. I’ve done sweaters, shirts, and sports jackets. Now I’m working on pants (difficult I’m finding) and shoes.
One of my shoe strategies is to keep abreast of Brooks Brothers Peal & Co. shoes, most of which (so far as I understand) were made by Crockett & Jones. At least up to a certain year. I bought three, and have received two so far. Pictures are below.
Can anyone tell me what I have here? The brown one (derbies?) I’m pretty sure are CJ. The last is shown as 240. The red suede chukkas appear to be more recently made and are unused. They have a crepe sole, and look familiar to a red suede boot on the CJ website. (Unfortunately, the boots are a tad large. I need to figure that out.) Still to come is a tan suede double monk.
(My best buy was a pair of Ferragamo Tramezza Special Edition chukka/desert boots that were hand made by Paolo Scafora, according to Kostas.) They look beautiful and fit like a glove.)
Upon further inspection of the shoes and looking for matches on the internet, I’m sure you’re right about that. The red ones are definitely not C&J, we would need to see the internal markings to tell for the brown ones
A quick brush or a wipe down should be more than enough I would think.
I quite agree, their well worn state enhances the look. I like the worn metal-work on the eyelets and hooks.Honestly, that's how a Snowdon that gets used is supposed to look.
These are in need of more than that, covered in mud from watching my kid’s football (soccer). They’ve had quite a bit of abuse this winter. When I get a minute these will get a full saddle-soap and then re-conditioning.A quick brush or a wipe down should be more than enough I would think.
